The DVD
VIDEO/AUDIO: The audio quality is pretty superb, with the sound in general seeming as warm as the weather looks at the concert, keeping a pleasing tone and sounding dynamic. The music is enveloping and fills the listening space well, almost making the viewer feel as if they're front row at the show. This is a really impressive recording of the concert that keeps every detail, and presents the entire audio package quite enjoyably.
Just as impressive is the video quality, which presents all of the vibrant colors of the clothing, all of the reds, yellows, greens and other colors impressively, with no color bleeding or any other flaws. Sharpness is more than acceptable throughout, and detail is quite good. The stage lighting looks good, as well. There is some noticable shimmering, but no pixelation and in general, there are no distracting problems. The image is full-frame.
MENUS:: Easily navigated and well done menus; the sound of waves play out in the background while pictures of Marley and slight animation are in front.
EXTRAS:
"One Love" Multi_Angle: Viewers can choose to watch multiple angles of the "One Love" performance. If you go to the selection from the "special features", you can get a map of where all of the different cameras are located around the stage, which is a very nice addition.
Marley Family Bonus Songs: 5 Bonus Songs, presented in Dolby 2.0
Behind-The-Scenes: Interviews with members of the Marley family as well as some of the artists about Bob Marley's music, and behind-the-scenes footage of the concert being put together. I found the interviews and footage quite interesting; they gave further insight into Marley's music and also, provided a cool look at the show being built. I was impressed with the length of this documentary, too: it's over 35 minutes and fans will find a lot to enjoy.
Also: Bob Marley photo montage and discography; weblinks and previews of other Palm Pictures releases.
Final Thoughts: Great performances in the main program; Palm Pictures also again makes an outstanding package with the selection of extras, such as the bonus songs and the remarkable documentary. Fans of Marley's music will definitely enjoy this DVD.
