The DVD:

Looking at Circuit's 3rd edition, there is some great content, but there are some notable changes and improvements that were made to the structure of later efforts. Still, at the series's usual $14.95 price point, the disc has a lot to offer.

First off, I was pleased to see a section covering director Grant Gee's fabulous documentary, "Meeting People Is Easy", a tour documentary following the band Radiohead's tour behind their "OK Computer" album. The area includes a segment from the movie itself and a fairly lengthy interview with the director. The entire film is available on its own DVD(with both Dolby Digital and DTS audio), but it's a fine inclusion. Those who haven't seen the film might be interested by the clip and those who've seen the movie would very likely be interested in what the director has to say about working with the band. The clip from the movie is in 2.0, as well as the interview.

The "In Tune" section includes 2 music videos, one from Underworld and the other from rap group Styles From Beyond - both are in Dolby Digital 5.1 and sound quite good. There are also always a number of concert performances on the "Circuit" issues, or at least the ones that I have taken a look at so far. Circuit 3 includes 2 - one performance from Cibo Matto and the other from Mercury Rev.

The "Bandwidth" section offers a number of neat features and extras. The segements follow Moby, 311(who are recording their new album) ,Flaming Lips, Kool Keith and an excerpt from a new documentary about the Replacement's Paul Westerberg. The clip from the Westerberg was really cool, and hopefully that will be released soon, or it would be neat if it would be offered completely on an upcoming Circuit issue. Like most of the sections on the Circuit magazines, there's always more than meets the eye. The Westerberg documentary includes an additional interview, the Moby section includes a video for "Run On", and the Flaming Lips segement includes a bonus song.

There are some little things here and there that have been redone for later issues. When you make the selection for some segements on this issue, ads appear. These can be skipped past to get to the segement itself, although it was fairly cool when I selected the Mercury Rev performance and the "Matrix" trailer appeared before the performance itself. In future issues such as the most recent one, the ads for Warner Brothers movies have their own section. The segements in the most recent issue are also almost all in 5.1 audio, as well. Still, Circuit 3 offers some cool clips from some great bands, and at the disc's low price tag, it's recommended for music fans.
