In Short: Not bad - you get what you pay for in this edition of the music magazine.

The film:

This is the second edition of "Circuit" music magazine from Warner Brothers and again, like the first issue I viewed, I have mixed feelings about the way that the package is set up and offered, but am pleased with what's offered for the low price. Again, this issue is a mixed bag of interviews with various bands as well as performances and music videos, and depending on what kind of music you like (on this particular edition there are segments from the Afghan Whigs, Bis,Ben Harper, Luna, Robyn Hitchcock, 60 Channels(who?), Mission Of Burma.

What I liked about the first issue carries over to this one as well. I'm very pleased with the use of the format that's shown here, with some of the segements including alternate audio tracks with things such as interviews with the band. While I'm pleased with the use of the format, sometimes the content comes up as lacking - the interviews are aimless and like the interview with the Afghan Whigs especially, go absolutely nowhere. Some of the live footage, such as the Mission Of Burma performance (which is also in 5.1) is certainly pleasing. It all comes down to you're getting what you pay for - the retail price on this DVD is $14.95.

Unfortunately, that also means that there's the occasional advertisement that pops up once you make a selection. The menus are also a little confusing at first to go through and certainly overdone (similar again, to the first edition) - when you see an "instructions" section in the main menu, you know you're in for some work. A nifty section that I located on this edition that wasn't on the previous edition I reviewed was the inclusion of movie trailers from Warner's films - Deep Blue Sea & Shawshank Redemption.

Video quality and audio quality depends on the material. Some segements are in Dolby 2.0 and some are in Dolby 5.1. All are generally pleasing, but not too impressive, although the live segment with G Love and Special Sauce sounded quite good. Overall, I feel generally the same about this edition. It's certainly not bad for the price, but I would pay more for more consistency to the material quality.
