In Short: DVD nicely captures Seinfeld's last performance of some of his best material. Hilarious show, definitely recommended for Seinfeld fans. The film: I was a huge "Seinfeld" fan from when the show first came on the air to the end(although I'm one of the many who didn't care for the last show). Still, I never did enjoy the sort of "stand-up" bits that always opened the show during most of it's run. Maybe it was just that the bits only offered a taste of Seinfeld's stand-up bit with that crowd laughing in the background. I always thought that the show itself always offered the best material. I missed "I'm Telling You For The Last Time" during it's initial run on HBO, but after watching it, I must say I found it hilarious. It's all in Seinfeld's delivery, and "I'm Telling You" presents the comedian in full-on great form. Rather than bite-sized pieces of material, the show finally presents Seinfeld on his home turf, and the results are great: the comedian hits jokes and jumps from topic to topic with ease. From airports to Florida, it's not just Seinfeld that's in great form, the jokes just work better here. The DVD presents the entire show about as good as it could: the full frame picture is clear and generally clean, with only slight traces of artifacts here and there, and nothing that I found distracting. Colors, especially in the opening sequence where the jokes are "laid to rest", are pleasant and enjoyable. The focus is almost always on Seinfeld, and the image is consistently watchable. Sound is really quite pleasant, capturing each and every joke from Seinfeld with clarity. Even crowd noise is quite clear- clear enough to hear a Howard Stern fan shout in the begining of the show, "Baba Booey!", which gets a laugh from Seinfeld. Also included on the disc is a Seinfeld biography, as well as a "Question and Answer" session between Seinfeld and the audience and although it's only a few minutes in length, it's a funny and memorable addition. "I'm Telling You For The Last Time" is only 79 minutes or so in length, but for Seinfeld fans this is definitely recommended. You can find it at most stores for $19.99 or less.
