South Park Volume 3
Warner Home Vid./Comedy Central
Full Frame/Dolby Surround Stereo/

Well, depends on your sense of humor, some may find it hilarious. I definitely do. Either way, "South Park" is the hottest cartoon as of recent times. Very witty and profane, "South Park" is an obscene hoot, focusing on the lives of 4 very foul-mouthed young kids in the moutain town of South Park.

This volume(3rd out of 3) includes the episodes, "Mr. Hanky, The Christmas Poo", "Mecha-Streisand", "Starvin Marvin" and "Tom's Rhinoplasty." Before each episode, we get a very small(and very strange) introduction to the episode by creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker. The DVD volumes include 4 episodes each, where I believe the VHS copies only have 2 for around the same price.

It's definitely not a reference disc for audio. The sound is just okay, and I doubt anyone is looking for this disc to put their sound systems to the limit, anyway. The picture is definitely better than the digital cable picture when I've watched the show on comedy central, bring forward the colors of the cutout animation and making the colors far crisper and brighter. There is a bit of pixelation between the title card and the sequences where Parker and Stone intro the episodes, but that's no big thing, in my opinion. There's no chapter stops for the disc, you just choose what episode you want from the menu. No chapter stops may be a big thing for some viewers, but just the fact that you can watch the episodes uninterrupted is the biggest plus for me since I believe that Comedy Central has the most annoying advertisements on television. You also get a little clip of ads for Comedy Central shows to watch(thankfully, you have a CHOICE to watch these ads, you aren't forced to watch them.) Also, I didn't run into any of the "Popping Audio" problems that people have complained about on Volumes 1 and 2 on this disc, which I played on my A110.

Overall, though, I think this is the best volume released, with, in my opinion, a collection of "South Park"'s funniest moments. It's a show that's gotten a lot better and funnier since it's first show. I would have liked to have "South" letterboxed in it's proper 2.35:1 aspect ratio..(just kidding!)...but that's alright.
