The DVD:
Columbia/Tristar Home Video has done an outstanding job bringing this film home to movie-lovers everywhere. The transfer is outstanding, with a richness and clarity that probably wasn't attained in most theaters that this film was shown in. There are very very few, if any, compression artifiacts present when I watched it on my A110, but seriously, the transfer looks GREAT for this film. The A Side features the film in it's original 1.85:1 aspect ratio, while the second side is the full frame edition. Both versions look really, really good. The Dolby 2.0 sound is good, crisp and clear. What you'd ask for in a dialogue driven film like this. Dialogue is easily heard, everything sounds like it should.
Extras/Menus:
As much as I would have liked to have heard Mamet do a commentary on "Wag The Dog", I would have liked one more on this disc. "The Spanish Prisoner" is an outstanding film, filled with great dialogue and performances. So, it's unfortunate that the only extra included is the theatrical trailer. The menus look very nice, but they're not very impressive.

This is an outstanding film, but for $29.99 and no extras, I recommend renting it first. Some may not like it as much as others do.
